The Toyota Prius, winner of the 2010 Japan Car of the Year award, is all set to come to India next year. The car will be displayed at the 2010 Auto Expo in Delhi...

The Toyota Prius has come out on top, beating its closest rival – the Honda Insight – to win the 2010 Japan Car of the Year (JCOTY) award. The Prius hybrid took first place with 433 votes, with the Honda Insight hybrid in the runner-up position with 391 votes. This is said to be the closest finish ever in JCOTY’s 30-year history.

In third place was the Volkswagen Golf, with 186 votes, which also won the Import Car of the Year award. The Mitsubishi i-MiEV electric vehicle was in fourth place (it also won a special award for ‘most advanced technology’), while the Mercedes Benz E-Class took fifth place.

The Nissan 370Z won the most fun to drive award, while the Subaru Legacy too the best value award. Both, the Toyota Prius and the Nissan 370Z, are expected to be launched in India in 2010.
