Tata Motors has announced the launch of the Sump Grande MK II, which gets spruced-up interiors, mildly revamped styling and improvements in drivability, ride comfort and handling. Changes to the Sumo Grande’s exteriors include a new front grille, turn-indicators integrated into the outside rear-view mirrors (which are now power-operated) and a range of new colours. New, dual-tone interiors include upgraded trim materials.
According to Tata Motors, the Sumo Grande MK II gets revised gear ratios for better low-speed performance, height-adjustable driver’s seat, softer suspension settings for a more comfortable ride, optimised anti-roll bars for better handling and reduced noise/vibration/harshness (NVH) levels. With its 2.2-litre common-rail diesel engine, which produces 119 horsepower and 250Nm of torque, the Grande MK II remains a capable, long-distance people hauler that is now more refined than ever before.
The Tata Sumo Grande MK II will be available in three variants – GX, EX and LX – with seating capacity ranging between 7-9, and seats in front and side facing configurations. Prices range between Rs 6.43-7.50 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. With the new Grande MK II, Tata Motors expects its current utility vehicle sales of 2,500-3,000 units per month to go up by about a 1,000 units per month.
