Nissan has launched its 370Z sports coupe in India. Fitted with a 3.7-litre, 330-horsepower V6, the car is priced at Rs 53.50 lakh (for the version with the six-speed manual gearbox) and Rs 54.50 lakh (for the version with the seven-speed automatic), ex-showroom Delhi.
‘We have plans to launch nine models in India by 2012, of which we will import four models, including the 370Z, from Japan. The remaining five models we plan to produce at our Chennai plant,’ said Kiminobu Tokuyama, MD and CEO, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd.
The most eagerly awaited car from Nissan – a small hatchback that’s likely to be called Micra – will be launched in India by July this year. Nissan, which considers India its third most important market (after China and Russia), will also use its Indian facility as an exports hub for its new small car.
