Mercedes-Benz has launched its armoured S-Class luxury sedan – the S-Guard – in the Indian market. The German carmaker has more than eight decades of experience of manufacturing armoured cars and the vehicle launched in India can withstand attacks made with military-spec small-arms, hand grenades and various kinds of explosives.
The Mercedes-Benz S-Guard is fitted with a 5.5-litre twin-turbo V12 that produces 517 horsepower and a massive 830Nm of torque. With ‘integrated security’ being the key focus here, every part of the car is protected against attacks. Everything from the roof frame struts, door locks, door gaps and exterior mirror mountings have been designed and armour plated, to ensure maximum safety for occupants.
