Maruti Swift, Dzire get BS-IV compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine

The bestselling Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback and Swift Dzire sedan will now be fitted with Suzuki’s K12 series BS-IV compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine, instead of the old 1.3-litre unit. This engine will be mated to a revised five-speed transmission, boosting fuel economy from 15.9km/l for the old 1.3-litre engine to 17.9km/l for the new 1.2-litre engine.

Maruti has also hiked prices on Estilo variants by Rs 1,200-2,500. Prices on some other Maruti cars have also hiked, by less than 1%.
