Maruti Suzuki sells 4.5 lakh units of Swift in 5 years

Maruti Suzuki India has sold more than 4.5 lakh units of its car Swift since its launch in 2005. "The Swift was launched in India on May 25 , 2005. Nearly 16 , 000 customers had placed advance orders for the Swift even before it was unveiled and its price made public. In these five years , more than 4.5 lakh Swift cars have been sold in India , " said the company in a press release.

To meet the consumer demand for Swift , Maruti had to increase the production of the car over 12 , 000 units per month. The company manufactures the car at both its Gurgaon and Manesar plants. Customers have to wait for 2-3 months for the petrol variant of Swift , while they have to wait for 4 months for the delivery of the diesel variant. For more details about sales of the car read here.
