The new Fiat Punto Evo gets various cosmetic and tech updates...

Fiat, whose small cars have won various Car of the Year awards in Europe over the last few decades, has announced the next evolution of its bestselling hatchback, the Grande Punto. Named the Punto Evo, the new variant features revised styling, more safety features (ABS, ESP, multiple airbags…) and for the first time, Fiat’s new range of ‘Ecotechnology’ engines – MultiAir petrol and MultiJet II diesel units – all of which conform to Euro 5 emissions norms.

Available in three-door and five-door versions, the Fiat Punto Evo also gets revamped interiors that are softer and curvier than before, diffused ambient lighting, revised instrumentation, Blue&Me integrated infotainment system, stop-start technology and eco:Drive software which helps drivers get the best fuel economy from their car.

At the Auto Expo in Delhi earlier this month, Fiat had announced a diesel version of the Grande Punto for the Indian market. However, it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting the Punto Evo in the immediate future.
