In the year 1994, REVA Electric Car Company (RECC) was incorporated in India as a joint venture between The Maini Group, India, and AEV LLC, California, USA. The joint venture aim was to manufacture environment-friendly and cost-effective electric vehicles. With over 180 employees and 6,000 units, this company in India is located at Bommasandra Industrial Area, Bangalore.

The vision of the company is to establish a tradition of excellence and leadership in environment friendly urban transportation by offering the best value and highest quality electric vehicles for city mobility. RECC is also based upon the "zero principle" of the Maini Group. Zero defects, zero time delays, zero inefficiencies and zero pollution. This is achieved through Zero Wastage and Zero Compromises.

The company introduced REVA in May 2001 and it was India's first zero polluting Electric Vehicle for city mobility. The success of commercializing REVA at reasonable cost came out from the assistance it has received from the Maini Group. The Maini Group also produces battery operated materials handling equipment and off-road electric vehicles.

REVAi (REVA G-Wiz i in some markets) is an Indian electric car intended for use as a city car. More REVAs have been produced than any other currently selling electric car and sales are increasing. The current models of REVA offer a top speed of 65kmph and a range of 80 Km which is ideally suitable for today's life mobility.
