
![]() | Chevrolet is among the newest brands in India launched by General Motors Indian operations. A large amount of Chevrolets were first imported to India between 1918 and 1928. An early model, the National Series AB touring had a 171 cubic inches, 24.7hp four cylinder engine which proved the reliability of this model. Chevrolet was brought to India in June 2003 and the models include the Chevrolet Optra, Chevrolet Aveo, Chevrolet Tavera, Chevrolet SRV, Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Aveo U-VA. The Forester was imported directly from Fuji Heavy Industries in Japan until 2005. The Optra and Tavera are built at the Halol plant. The latest Chevrolet model in India is the Captiva SUV.
