The Sumo has grown today into a tried and tested highly successful multipurpose vehicle, with five variants to suit every need. Its powerful engine, rugged body and large cabin space offer a comfortable ride, and is ideally suited for long distance travel. It seems that the Sumo has been around for ages and has been given a few face lifts and touch-ups. It is not known for its good looks and Tata too has realised that too, but it is a rugged people-mover. If you want a good-looking version, try the Grande.

The Tata Sumo Grande comes with ample interior space, second row seats with reclining backrest, and folding third row seats. Sumo Grande has a top speed of 140 km/hr. More-over the car has a fuel consumption of 12 kmpl on highway and has a fuel consumption of 9 kmpl on city roads. With a diesel type engine Sumo Grande is capable of providing a displacement of 2179cc. In DICOR verson it has a 16 valve DOHC type engine. With this very powerful engine the car is capable of delivering a power of 120 bhp at the rate of 4000 rpm. While the maximum torque provided by the car is 250Nm at the rate of 1500-3000 rpm. This very powerful vehicle has a turning radius of 5.25mts. while at a time 7 people could sit in the car. Sumo Grande has a power steering with front disk and back drum type of brakes and a totel fuel tank capacity of 65 lt. For the comfort and convenience of the car it is equipped with AC with-out a climate control. Remote boot space, rear armrest, rake type steering adjustment, tinted glass, folding rear seats.

Additional features of Tata Sumo Grande includes dual HVAC have many different-different placed louvers placed on to the roof of the second roof of the car. These louvers helps in providing the uniform climate inside the all New Tata Sumo. The interiors of Tata Sumo grande are believed to be plush, with a wood finish centre console providing a touch of class and style to the vehicle. The all New Tata Sumo Grande is now available with an ALPINE CD/MP3 player that has six speakers attached to it and an iPOD interface.
